Fast views or human views?
Fast views are the low-cost option for momentum. They normally start within seconds, can deliver very large numbers in a day, and include a 30-day refill period if the count drops. Use them when you want a new Reel to look active quickly.
Human views are for watch time. Each view is a real person watching your Reel for a full minute from their personal account, at up to about 200 views a day. They cost more and arrive more slowly, but watch time is what Instagram pays the most attention to, so they are the better choice for a Reel you are serious about.
How Instagram counts Reel views
Instagram counts a view each time a Reel starts playing, including replays, so the number on a Reel is closer to plays than to people. What Instagram actually uses to decide reach is deeper: how long people watch, whether they rewatch, and whether they like, comment, share or save.
That is why the two options do different jobs. Fast views lift the visible number, which affects how new viewers perceive the Reel. Human views add the watch time that Instagram itself weighs. For a Reel you want to travel, the second matters more; for a Reel that just needs to look active, the first is enough.
Getting the most out of Reel views
Views amplify a Reel, they do not rescue one. The Reels that benefit most hook the viewer in the first second or two, give a reason to keep watching, and end with something to act on, like a follow, a save or a comment.
- Promote your best one or two Reels a week rather than everything you post.

Story views come from real personal accounts watching your Story, at up to about 200 an hour. To get the link, open the Story, tap Share and copy the link. Stories expire after 24 hours, so order early in the Story's life.
